According to a report by Monster.co.uk 6% of workers in the UK said they would fake a relative's death to get off work in order to attend an interview for another job.
(Most of the people asked used a medical appointment as an excuse, and men were the worst offenders overall. I'm trying to remember what excuses I used to use, and to be honest, I think I just took the day off.
