Interesting Animal - The Cow

Flatulence from about 90 dairy cattle caused a huge methane explosion at a barn in Rasdorf, in Germany. (The barn held about 90 cows, and the methane built up for unknown reasons. Police said it was probably ignited by a static discharge, exploding in a darting flame. The roof was damaged and one cow was slightly injured. +april sis - No one could blame this one on Laika.)

Interesting Place - Malawi

Solicitor General Anthony Kamanga, says the reference to "fouling the air" means pollution. The Bill reads: "Any person who vitiates the atmosphere in any place so as to make it noxious to the public to the health of persons in general dwelling or carrying on business in the neighbourhood or passing along a public way shall be guilty of a misdemeanour." Mr Chaponda, a trained lawyer, insists that this includes farting. Interesting Fact - World's Oldest Joke

The University of Wolverhampton in central England has found the world's oldest joke. It's a gag about breaking wind and dates from 4,000 years ago. The joke dates from 1900 BC, and originated in what is now southern Iraq. The joke goes:- "Something which has never occurred since time immemorial; a young woman farting in her husband's lap." (Well I can only think that times and senses of humour must have changed since then.)
