According to a paper published in the journal Biological Reviews, men's faces evolved to cope with fist fights. (The beefier facial features of men developed as a defense, so the bones most commonly broken in a fist fight gained the most strength, a sort of defensive armour. This explains the average look of those involved in a Saturday night punch-up in Nottingham.)

Following International pillow fight day (yesterday), I thought I'd share this little factlet: the largest pillow fight in the world was fought was in Minehead, Somerset, England in 2008. 3,706 people took part for Children in Need . (Pillow fights have existed for a long time, but because of social networking flash mob events are massive,  promoted primarily via the internet. Today is International Pillow Fight Day.

Hundreds of Chinese people gathered in Shanghai to stage a massive pillow fight. (The pillows bore the names of bosses and teachers in order to help students and workers let off steam. I do hope my name wasn't on any of them.) Source
