• Shakespeare actually wrote his sonnets for men.

• The ceiling of Shakespeare's stages was called "The Heavens."
• No one knows his actual birthday.
• Anne Hathaway was eight years older than Shakespeare and three months pregnant when they got married!
• Shakespeare didn’t actually publish any of his plays.
• His father John was the mayor of Stratford.
• We do not really know what Shakespeare looked like! Not one portrait was painted of Shakespeare whilst he was still alive!
• His grandchildren all died.
• Shakespeare invented the word assassination and bump.
• Shakespeare was 17 or 18 when he married. His wife, Anne Hathaway, was 26.
• His theatre was called the Globe. Which was also called the wooden plank.
